| Abstract | Typhoon formed in the tropical oceans made serious damage every year, strong typhoon always made disasters in the coastal area whenever it lands on. The disease and plague after the disasters threat the health of local people directly. It has great significance to improve the prediction of typhoon disasters and other incidentals. In this paper, a mesoscale atmosphere-ocean wave coupled model is studied. The model is used to simulate the development of a strong typhoon process in the East China Sea and the interaction mechanism between atmosphere and ocean wave. The experiment results show that the coupled model is of good capability in simulating the tropical cyclones in East China Sea. The feedback of ocean waves affects the precipitation of cyclone system and the coupled model improves the simulation of precipitation. The coupled model also shows good capability in simulating the distribution and development of ocean waves. The ocean waves affect both dynamical and thermal processes at air-sea interface and then affect the development of typhoon system. The coupled model including atmosphere-ocean wave interaction can be used to simulate and predict the occurrence of typhoon process more precisely, which helps to mitigate or prevent its damage to the coast environment and human health. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
