Abstract	In the field of nonlinear signal processing, the enhancement of the output-input signal-to-noise ratio gain via the array stochastic resonance mechanism becomes a hot topic. This paper evaluates the transmission performance of the bistable parallel array in non-Gaussian noise. It is found that, via the array stochastic resonance effect, the system output signal-to-noise ratio can be further improved. For an appropriate array size and in certain region of internal noise intensity, the output-input signal-to-noise ratio gain is proved to be beyond unity. When the noise levels are fixed, it is observed that the possibility of signal-to-noise ratio gain exceeding unity also exists for the subthreshold signal as the array size increases.
