| Abstract | The authors present three novel nanoparticles cytotoxicity activity against culture cell lines, including, Chinese hamster ovary cells (CHO), human liver carcinoma cells (HepG2), human oral carcinoma cells (OECM1) and human human foreskin fibroblasts cells (HS68). Different nanocomposites reveal different cytotoxicity activity, but most analyzed results present similar consequence. Normal cells (CHO, HSP68) with more sensitive cytotoxicity activity (LD=5~6 ppm.) and the carcinoma cells (HepG2, OECM1) show more tolerance cytotoxicity activity (LD=8~10 ppm.) to nanoparticles. All these results demonstrate that, these three nanoparticles were toxicity to culture cells and the lethal concentrations were never lower than 10 ppm, typically. It means that nanoparticles should not be used in food industry or relative health-food products. Interestingly, when combined with another gold nanoparticle to test cytotoxicity activity with these cell lines, we found that gold nanoparticle decrease the cytotoxicity activity of all the analyzed cell lines, but the lethal concentrations of silver combined with gold nanoparticle were never lower than 14 ppm. These results suggest that nanoparticles should not be applied onto food chemistry discretionary, including the popular packaged water market. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
