Abstract | In this paper, a novel optimization algorithm was given and the effect to abnormal bone growth was obtained through considering different implanted materials, based on the finite element method and bone self-optimization theory. Quantitative analysis was presented for osteogenic rate and bone density distribution with implant materials. Using the algorithm, the proximal femur with implanted biodegradable materials was simulated and osteogenesis was presented to different materials. Simulation experiment mainly considered the elastic modulus parameter (20-3000 MPa) of the implanted biodegradable materials. The research results show that the osteogenesis effect was best when the value was 1000MPa. The method was effectiveness to bone micro-architecture and bone structure optimization process which could be used to the matching problem for bone and material. The study is significant to clinical medicine and materials science. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
