Abstract	The establishment of mathematical model of electric vehicle(EV) driving system combines balance equation of vehicle movement with equation of mechanical characteristics of direct current (DC) motor. Fuzzy PI control strategy optimizes the model and simulates the model with Simulink software. Simulation results show that the mathematical model of EV driving system can reflect operating condition of the vehicle factually and accurately. Fuzzy PI control strategy optimizes the control of driving system, at the same time makes simulation speed track the required speed accordingly. The model has strong robustness and is applicable to the simulation of EV driving system.
