Abstract | The brushless doubly-fed generator (BDFG) is a new typical machine of the variable speed and constant frequency wind power generation system. Comparing with the conventional AC excited induction generators, BDFG not only has simple and credible structure, but robustness and reliability of the reluctance or cage -rotor inductance machines. Using d-q rotor reference coordinate system as a start point, this paper presents the mathematical model for brushless doubly-fed generator. Based on the working principle and the characteristic of BDFG operation under no-load condition, the simulation model of BDFG under no-load condition is established completely and enclosed to be the block on Matlab/Simulink environment. The simulation results verify the validity and feasibility of the designed model, which provides the theoretical foundation and simulation block for the further researches on the no-load cutting-in control strategy for the brushless doubly-fed wind power generation system. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
