Abstract	A method of current harmonic suppression and voltage waveform improvement in power supply system is introduced. The key technology is to control the rectifier's input current, which includes reversed components of harmonic current, and part of them will be eliminated, while the voltage will be drifted toward the sinusoidal waveform. Direct digital control technique is employed in a switching power supply to control the input current and the output voltage simultaneously based on weighted duty cycle process. In the smart switching power supply appliance, the reference corresponding to the output voltage is a constant value in general, but to control input voltage, the reference voltage is in sinusoidal waveform. Both of the input and output voltage is regulated by the weighted duty cycle as well as the current adjustment. The input current is changing immediately with the weighted duty cycle, but the output current is determined by the average of the weighted duty cycle in every half of the power period. The smart control rectifier can also be utilized to many other power electronic applications.
