| Abstract | The high temperature damage index series of 25 stations were calculated from 1960 to 2007, and these series were consisted of a matrix. After doing EOF to the matrix, two meaningful eigenvector fields were got, and therefore two main patterns about the spatial distribution of the high temperature damage to Rice in Jiangsu were found: the whole distribution pattern and the south-north distribution pattern. A wavelet analysis was made to the high temperature damage index, time-coefficients of the first and the second eigenvectors, the results showed that there were inter-annual periodic variations of quasi-biennial, 3 to 4 years, 4 to 6 years, and 8 years, and interdecadal periodic variations of 12 to 16 years, as well as abrupt changes, in Jiangsu in recent 48 years; the high temperature damage to rice in Jiangsu was the composite result of multi-scale periodic fluctuations. National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
