Abstract | Four scenes of Landsat TM images which were obtained on September 15th, 1988; September 11th, 1998; September 1st, 2006 and August 24th, 2009 separately were utilized, the corresponding surface temperature of Huayan new city in Chongqing were retrieved with mono-window algorithm carried out by Qin Zhihao. The retrieved results show that during the 21 years from 1988 to 2009, high temperature regions of Huayan new city have expanded from central part of northern city to the east and the originally scattered high temperature pixels gradually merge into big ones, the internal structure and composition of heat island centers have greatly changed. Besides, an earth-satellite synchronizing observation was carried out in order to verify the accuracy of the retrieved results. The synchronizing observation result shows that the average surface temperature retrieved with mono-window algorithm is averagely 1.1°C lower than the field measured surface temperature and there is a good consistency among the retrieved surface temperature, the field measured surface temperature and the near-surface air temperature. Furthermore, the Urban Heat Island Information Management System—Huayan (UHIIMS-HY) software was briefly introduced, which was used for the information management of outdoor thermal environment in Huayan New city. |
