Abstract	A set of dedicated CAD (computer-aided-design) programs is described. The programs allow the top-down design from filter specification to a lattice wave digital filter (LWDF) implementation on the DSP (digital signal processing) architecture RISP. The CAD tools support the design of low-pass, high-pass, elliptical, Butterworth, or bireciprocal LWDFs, optimization of coefficients, transformation of the LWDF signal flow diagram into an assembler program, translation into a machine program for RISP, and simulation in order to emphasize analysis of output sequences. Eight different filter examples have been designed and analyzed with this CAD system. These examples successfully demonstrate the correctness of the RlSP architecture and the efficiency of the specialized CAD system for the design of IIR (infinite impulse response) filters for RISP.<>
