| Description | The present handbook is the second in the statistical series brought out by the TRC&TI comprising useful statistical date on different aspects of socio-economic development of Scheduled Areas and Scheduled Tribes in Andhra Pradesh. This publication is intended to provide the basic data on various facilities extended to Scheduled Tribes in the fields of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Forests, Co-operatives and Industries, Education, Medical and Public Health, Power, Labour and Employment, State Income, Research and Training. This hand book will cater to the needs of all especially Administrators, Social Workers and Research Workers engaged in the field of Tribal Welfare. Tribal and non-tribal membership in Grama Panchayats block wise also provided in this hand book. Extent of Scheduled Area is 11,595 sq. Miles. The percentage of Scheduled area to the total area of State is 10.9% and 8 districts having Scheduled Areas, 24 Taluks having scheduled area and 4,346 Scheduled Villages. According to the census Statistics 1961 census the total tribal population is 1324368 consisting of 6,70,368 males and 6,54000 females, the sex ratio is 976 females per 1000 males. The density of population is 12. The agriculture is a main source of livelihood among the tribals. The land utilization 1966-67 tribal development blocks is net area sown is 233632 hectares and land put to agricultural use is 49472 hectares. The total 1391 primary schools in Scheduled Areas, 107 Govt Hostels for Scheduled Tribes and 74 Ashram Schools are established by the Government. The total 8,693 students benefited by Government Hostels and 7093 students benefited by subsidized hostels. On the aspects of health, the number of various health facilities district wise available in this statistic hand book. Achievements of medical institutions areas during 1970-71 also mentioned in this report. The total 19,65542 of out patients, major and minor operations 1829 and 15,738 vasectomy operations conducted in 8 districts. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
