| Abstract | Forest fires are a regular phenomenon in the forest. Tribals are closely associated with the forest regarding their cultural, economic, and social needs. During the year 2021, the states of Odisha and Madhya Pradesh reported a high number of forest fires. In India, forest fires are of different types. For example, ground fire, surface fire, and crown fire. Different regions have faced different kinds of forest fires and, based on the intensity and severity of the fire, the impact on vegetation and on the dependent community is different. Forest fire has different impacts on forest regeneration, soil, and the distribution of various plant species. Tribals living near forests undoubtedly have an impact on forest fires, which in turn has an impact on tribal socioeconomic structures. The present study is aimed at finding various causes of forest fire and the role of tribals in the fire and the probable impact of fire on the tribals. Forest fires have become a global challenge in the past 5-10 years. which results in a negative impact on the ecological and social structure of any country, state or regions. Forest fire harms community sources collected from the forest. Studies on the assessment of the vulnerability of forest fringe communities to forest fire are lacking, so this study is an attempt to overcome this shortcoming in the available literature. Integration of modern tools like remote sensing techniques along with field studies may provide more details, which may be useful for site-specific planning and management. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
