Abstract	This paper studies nonlinear dynamics and stabilization problem of parallel dc-dc boost converters with the winner-take-all (WTA) switching. The WTA switching can automatically realize multi-phase synchronous state that is suitable for current sharing and ripple reduction. Based on several analysis results of single converters, we analyze the dynamics of the parallel converters. Applying the piecewise linear modeling and mapping procedure, we have clarified that, as parameters vary, the multi-phase synchronous state becomes unstable and chaotic phenomena appear. We have noticed that ripple of unstable synchronous state is much smaller than that of the chaotic state. We then present a loser-take-all impulsive switching method that can stabilize the synchronous state.
