Abstract | The purpose of this paper is to present the 1MHz sampled quick response digital control dc-dc converter. The proposed method is the digital control method with the FIR filter and the P control. In the proposed method, the coefficient of the FIR filter is approximated by being rounded to three decimal place for reducing the cost of the calculation. The approximated FIR filter has also same characteristics as the original one. Moreover, the FIR filter is combined with the P control to improve the transient response. The sampling frequency for the P control is set 1MHz. It is ten times against the switching frequency. Thus, the proposed method is hardly affected by the peculiar delay-time of the digital control. In the experiment, the undershoot of the output voltage is improved by 38% than the conventional FIR filter control method. Furthermore, the convergence time of the output voltage in proposed method is improved by 56%. As a result, the proposed method can realize superior transient response. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
