Abstract	In the light of the commonly existing time delay in the networked control system, the design method of sliding mode controller for overcoming the influence of the state delay is proposed, which has the advantage of invariability for system in the presence of parameter variations, uncertainties and disturbances, and guarantees closed-loop system stability and robustness. When the system is in the sliding mode, the dynamic equations of the closed-loop system can be reduced to a linear form and its eigenvalues can be arbitrarily assigned. The stability of the whole system is proven by utilizing the linear matrix inequalities (LMI). The simulation results show that this method is effective and feasible
