| Abstract | The secant pile wall is a new type of foundation pit retaining structure which includes rigid reinforced concrete pile and relatively flexible plain concrete pile. The rigid pile and flexible pile clenches each other to reach the double effect of supporting and water shut-off. In this paper, based on the shear displacement method, the Mylonakis & Gazetas model is brought into the rigid-flexible deformation mode analysis of the secant pile wall. Considering the combined action of the rigid pile and flexible pile, the overall deformation calculation model of the secant pile wall is established. The interactional flexibility coefficients between rigid piles, rigid-flexible piles and flexible piles are deduced respectively. Then, the new deformation calculation method of the secant pile wall is put forward. With this method the calculated values are close to the measured values and the errors are less, which shows that the calculation model is feasible and can be used as the supporting design and construction of the secant pile wall. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
