Abstract | Ash deposition on heat transfer surfaces still to be a significant problem in power plant utility boilers. The effective ways to deal with this problem are accuracy on-line monitoring of ash fouling and soot-blowing. In this paper, the on-line ash fouling monitoring dynamic models of coal-fired utility boiler's heat transfer surfaces are proposed. The fundamental principle of the models is dynamic heat balance method. Finally, taking the economizer of a certain 300MW power plant utility boiler as the object of consideration, ash fouling of the transfer surface has been calculated with real time data from the DCS. The calculation results show the effectiveness of the dynamic models mentioned above. Some preliminary results analysis are shown aiming at the situation that the cleanliness factor has a obvious increased but its not corresponding to the soot-blowing point. The dynamic models are contributed to ash fouling monitoring and optimization of the soot-blowing. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
