Abstract	In order to extend the rib arch overpass structure widely in highway construction, this paper introduced the rationality of building rib arch overpass in the areas of favourable geological condition and large quantity cubage of excavation of the highway from JiLin to YanJi. We also expounded the structure analysis and construction process of the arch rib overpass, the various kinds of characteristic of the arch rib, such as strength, deformation and so on, all can meet the requirements of specification. This overpass has the advantages of reasonable structure force, simple and quick construction and beautiful appearance. The construction of JiYan highway will become an ecological and environmentally friendly way with the concept of “people-oriented”, harmony and nature. It can be used as reference for similar engineering.
