Abstract | We have prepared a new series of R-Fe-B alloys with R=Nd, Pr, and Dy having the Y/sub 3/Fe/sub 62/B/sub 14/ structure using the melt-spinning technique. This metastable phase when annealed at higher temperatures transforms to the R/sub 2/Fe/sub 14/B/sub 1/+/spl alpha/-Fe phase. We have studied the crystallization behavior of these alloys. /sup 57/Fe Mossbauer studies have shown that the as-spun samples were amorphous and the ribbons annealed at 600-620/spl deg/C contain the metastable Y/sub 3/Fe/sub 62/B/sub 14/ type structure with /spl alpha/-Fe. The analysis of the Mossbauer spectra of the R/sub 3/Fe/sub 62/B/sub 14/ phases has yielded average hyperfine fields of 229 kG at 295 K and 315 kG at 17 K. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
