Abstract | The coercivity, time dependent magnetic properties and reversible magnetization behavior for a series of neodymium enriched alloys based on Nd/sub 2/Fe/sub 14/B has been investigated. These studies were carried out in an attempt to elucidate the dramatic increase in the coercivity in these materials with increasing dilution of the magnetic phase (Nd/sub 2/Fe/sub 14/B). Good correlation between the coercivity and the relative average linear sparing between magnetic grains was found for all but the lowest Nd content. As the Nd content is increased the reversible magnetization associated with domain wall pinning decreases. At high dilutions the reversible magnetization behavior is consistent with the predictions of a Stoner-Wohlfarth model of an assembly of noninteracting single domain particles. The magnetic viscosity parameter, /spl Lambda/, does not vary consistently with dilution or coercivity. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
