Abstract	In this paper, a new microwave absorbing screen is fabricated with multilayered Fe-SiO nanofilms deposited on flexible polyimide substrate. Using the transmission line model, the design of the absorbing screen is optimized. The microwave absorption of the optimized structure is verified by experiments, which are in good agreement with the transmission line analysis. Owing to the electrical and magnetic damping of the Fe nanofilms, the total thickness of the structure including face sheet and foam spacer is about one seventh of the resonant wavelength in free space. The absorbing screen is light weighted due to the thin face sheet and foam spacer, which results in a surface density of only 0.29 $kg/m^{2}.$ This kind of screen could be designed to work at different microwave frequency and used in different electromagnetic compatibility or interference reduction applications.
