| Abstract | Soil water infiltration in unsaturated zone is an important part of the atmospheric water circulation, and is important to agriculture and movement of contaminant. Deficiency also exists in understanding the soil water movement in complicated environments because the rigorous survey and observation of the soil water movement is difficult. Soil water exists in different forms in soils, and whose physical properties are dissimilar. We apply the adsorption theories to analyze the interaction between soil particles and water molecules, and analyze the role of those physical properties on soil water movement. Effect of temperature on soil water movement in soil is important. Based on the physical property of the soil water and analyzing composition of soil water potential, we discuss the migration of the water and moisture in soil under the temperature gradient. Combining experiment data, we discuss the possibilities of circulation that the soil water moves from the high temperature area to the low temperature area in vapor form, and the water reflow along soil particle surface in the liquid form from low temperature area to high temperature area under deriving of soil water potential. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
