| Abstract | Based on ABAQUS modeling platform, simplified modeling of pipeline interface in different directions of water supply network in KGWL zone was conducted, where finite element analysis was as the basic modeling approach. Then dynamic analysis was taken when a known seismic/earthquake wave was input. Through analysis of simulation results, the basis of earthquake damage on pipe interface was determined. Based on the simulation results of straight pipe interface, seismic/earthquake response of four different pipes was calculated through bringing into straining adjustment factor. At last, Earthquake damaging condition of water supply network in KGWL zone was analyzed. Through application it could be found that ABAQUS and the method proposed in this paper is practicable to analyze the earthquake damage to water supply network. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
