Abstract | The combination design of predictive functional control and PID method (PFC-PID) for liquid level of industrial coking equipment is presented. The control target is to maintain the liquid level of a coking fractionating tower within a set range by manipulating the fluid flow into the coking furnaces, while rejecting the effect of disturbances. The proposed control selects a simple structure and a modification of the classical control scheme to improve control performance. Results compared with traditional PID under similar conditions are improved. Application on the real plant is also described, demonstrating the efficiency of the method. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
