Abstract	Information-based regional public health service is an important element of e-government construction. It means the local governments can provide a digital platform to improve their public health services and managements with the building of the comprehensive and effective health information systems. On the basis of a case study of the Citizen Health Information System in Xiamen City, Fujian Province, this paper analyses the huge effectiveness of the information-based regional public health services from three perspectives of technical innovation, problem resolving and multi-beneficiary. Thus, the author believes that local governments must build information-based regional public health services platforms with functions of both information aggregation and information dissemination, so that the citizens can enjoy the higher-quality public services brought by the IT revolution.
