| Description | The engineering of systems, commonly called systems engineering (SE) is a central part of the systems approach. However, the scope of SE in the context of systems theory has markedly increased in recent years. The increase in scope encompasses the following aspects: a transdisciplinary approach and means; a focus on anticipated stakeholder needs; a focus on the system life cycle and complexity; exhaustive capture of requirements; consideration of the complete system; the integration of all disciplines; and consideration of business and technical aspects. In short, SE is no longer considered part of traditional engineering. SE would focus on information rather than processes. SE would increase its focus on enabling systems. SE is a collaborative approach. SE would primarily support the system owner or the problem owner. SE creates the system of interest (SOI). When executed correctly, SE is not an additional task over normal tasks, Book Name: Systems Approach to the Design of Commercial Aircraft |
