| Abstract | Wind power consumption has become a bottleneck in the development of wind power. Based on the energy storage's redistribution ability of wind power in time scale, the utilisation efficiency of wind power accommodation capability can be significantly improved. However, traditional plan tracking strategy of wind power and energy storage combined system usually makes decisions based on current operating conditions. Since the strategy does not consider the future regulation requirement, the energy storage system may be out of operation since the state of charge (SOC) is too high or too low. Aiming at the shortage of current tracking strategy, this paper proposes a smart tracking strategy of wind power and energy storage combined generation system based on three-stage rolling optimisation, including day-ahead, within-day, and real time. The reserved capacity of energy storage station is determined according to the wind power ramping trend prediction method in day-head stage. The low limit of energy storage station SOC is corrected according to ultra-short time wind power prediction in within-day stage. In real-time stage, the energy storage system selectively participates in active power control of combined system according to the actual power deviation and SOC operating range. Simulation result shows that the proposed method can effectively improve the combined system generating capacity. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
