| Abstract | Summary form only given. A free-standing thin film was prepared by electrophoretic method. A polyimide film coated with Ti was used as a cathode and a stainless steel plate as an anode, respectively. The two electrodes were placed into a bath with solvent consisting of fine carbon nano-tube particles, Mg(NO/sub 3/)/sub 2/ 6H/sub 2/O and isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Mixed solution was stirred for about 2-4 hours to assure the complete dissolution of Mg(NO/sub 3/)/sub 2/ 6H/sub 2/O and the dispersion of carbon nano-tube particles. DC electric field was applied to the two electrodes. The anode voltage was about 100V. After 1-2 minutes, the carbon nano-tube particles were deposited on the polyimide film coated with Ti, and a free-standing film was prepared. The electron field emission properties of the prepared thin film were tested by a diode mechanism. The turn-on field of the thin film was about 2.96V//spl mu/m. The current density of the thin film was about 200/spl mu/A/cm/sup 2/ at an electric field of 5.9V//spl mu/m. The morphology and structure of the thin film were examined by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Raman spectroscopy. The experimental results indicate that this film "could be a promising material applicable to cold cathodes. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
