Abstract	The conversion of three mainframe pulsed power design codes, JASON, TIGERP, and MAFCO, for micro-computer use is discussed. The feasability and desirability of porting such codes is examined in the context of present computer technology and the computational needs of the pulsed power community. Problems encountered such as memory management, discrepancies in word lengths, and the availability of intrinsic functions are discussed along with their solutions as well as compromises which were required. The performance of these codes is examined with respect to computation al accuracy, processor speed, and revised capabilities. Finally, the micro-computer codes are compared in terms of wall-clock performance and design efficiency, ease of use, and the effort associated with the software development.
