Abstract | Aiming at realizing fiber placement path planning in a certain S-shaped inlet, a path planning algorithm based on boundaries of tow and an algorithm for calculating quantity of fiber tow are proposed to machine the dust in accordance with the original design. It is proved that placement in the normal direction is difficult when the pressure of the roller is oriented towards the normal direction at the trajectory point by analyzing normal and tangential placement of trajectory point and contact model between the roller and the mould surface. A placement path calculating method, treating isometric offset of curves in the surface as its core idea, is proposed by combining the algorithms of isometric-placement and uniform-angle-placement in the scope of placement angle designed originally. The efficiency of fiber placement equipment can be increased with method above. The applicability of this method is verified by applying it to plan placement path of a certain S-shaped inlet. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
