Abstract | An important feature for any social network service is to share interesting user generated multi- media (text, images, audio, and audio-video) among user’s connections. Although major social network providers have developed Smartphone-based applications for sharing the content using their phones i.e Youtube, Dropbox, Picasa etc. However in developing countries, majority of users find it difficult to share content among their social network primarily due to limited pene- tration of smartphones and 3G networks. Due to above mentioned limitations, content sharing happens through local communication technologies such as Bluetooth or manually swapping flash cards. In case of current local sharing mechanisms, the users ask their friends about the content manually and fix a meeting place to exchange that content. However, this model of content sharing is not scalable when number of users or shared item increase. In this project, we introduce a cloud-enabled search of content lying on Mobile devices and also present a way to share the files among two users when they are in close proximity. We also introduce a web application for searching of content lying on any device. |
