Abstract | An important feature for any social network service is to bring people closer. Be it your old friends from school, or your o ce buddies, everybody is now a click away, thanks to services like Facebook and Twitter. Relationships from social network are now being seen as a potential data set for leveraging security and perfomance of applications like email and web browsing. This data set can help us form a virtual graph for people and their friends. But the question arises - How closely related is this virtual database to the real world interaction of the users? And how accurately can we use this data to improve the performance of the existing applications. Sarvekarma tries to gure out the relation between the virtual world interactions on Facebook and real world meetings by using GPS logs from mobile phones. |
