| Abstract | This paper presents datas of a research developed from an intervention done with students from three sixth elementary school groups, from a public school localized in Sao Paulo, south region. The main objective was to evaluate if the use of the active methodology, contributes to the teaching of Sustainability for elementary school students II. The analyzes were made based on a qualitative methodology, which considered the individual and group social actions, having been executed with three classes of the sixth year in a Municipal School of Elementary Education of São Paulo, during the classes of Sciences in the period comprised by the third two months of 2016. The results obtained showed that the methodology 11 A ABORDAGEM DA SUSTENTABILIDADE NO ENSINO DE CIÊNCIAS POR MEIO DE UMA METODOLOGIA ATIVA promoted learning, as well contributed to the student́ s citizen formation taking them to rethink your relationship with the environment promoting sustainable attitudes.
