Abstract	OZET: Bu cal›flmada disiplinler aras› o¤retim yaklafl›m› ta- n›t›lm›fl ve Turkiye koflullar›nda orta o¤retim biyoloji eitim- de uygulanabilirlii araflt›r›lm›flt›r..Araflt›rman›n sonucunda biyoloji o¤retmenlerinin buyuk bir k›sm›n›n disiplinler aras› o¤retim hakk›nda bilgilerinin olmad›¤› gorulmufltur. O¤ret- menler biyoloji ders saatlerini disiplinler aras› o¤retimin uy- gulanmas› icin yetersiz bulmufllar ve program cok yuklu oldu- ¤undan disiplinler aras› cal›flmalara zaman kalmad›¤›n› belirt- mifllerdir. Bunun yan›nda, programda yer alan biyoloji konu- lar›n›n disiplinler aras› o¤retime yeterince uygun olmad›¤› ifa- de edilmifltir. O¤retmenler okullardaki zumreler aras› iletifli- min disiplinler aras› cal›flmalar icin "orta" derecede yeterli ol- duunu belirtirken, hem o¤retmenler hem de yoneticiler okul- larda disiplinler aras› o¤retim icin gerekli organizasyonun salanabileceini ifade etmifllerdir. Okullar›n arac gerec dona- n›m› bak›m›ndan her iki grup taraf›ndan "az" yeterli bulundu- ¤u gorulmufltur. Anahtar Kelimeler: Disiplinler aras› o¤retim, biyoloji eitimi. ABSTRACT: TIn this study, interdisciplinary teaching approach and feas›bility of the approach in the high school biology education in Turkey were searched. The results showed that the majority of biology teachers did not know much on interdisciplinary teaching approach. Teachers stated that allocated time for biology courses was not adequate for this teaching approach and also emphasized there was not much time for interdisciplinary studies because of the heavy content of the curriculum. Furthermore, it has been stated that the the subjects in biology curriculum were not suitable enough for the interdisciplinary teaching approach. While teachers expressed that communication among the sub - branches was adequate for interdisciplinary studies at "medium" level, both teachers and principals stated necessary organization could be provided for interdisciplinary studies in schools. Both teachers and principals found that equipment of the schools were adequate at "low" level. 1. G‹R‹fi Gunumuzde insanl›¤›n temel problemleri be- lirli bilim alanlar› ile s›n›rl› kalmamakta, bunlar›n analizi ve cozumu cou zaman farkl› disiplinlerin ifl birliini gerektirmektedir. Kureselleflme, bilgi toplumuna gecifl, cok h›zl› meydana gelen ekolojik ve sosyal geliflmeler pek cok sorunu sadece disiplinler aras› yaklafl›mlarla cozulebilir hale getirmifltir. Bu nedenle ceflitli fle- killerde ortaya c›kan bireysel ve toplumsal sorun- lar›n cozumunde farkl› alan bilgilerini birlefltire- rek kullanabilen, farkl› alanlar aras›nda iliflki ku- rabilen, problemleri farkl› bak›fl ac›lar›ndan gore- bilen insanlara olan ihtiyac da artm›flt›r. ‹nsanl›¤›n gelecekte ihtiyac duyduu bu bilgi ve beceriler geleneksel yontemlerle uygulanmaya cal›fl›lan alanlarla s›n›rl› derslerle cok az kazand›- r›labilir. Bu nedenle okul eitimi disiplinlere ve bunlar›n bolunmufl bilgilerine yonelmek yerine di- siplinler aras› o¤renme ortamlar› oluflturmal›d›r (Wellensiek und Petermann, 2002). Alana dayal› o¤retimde o¤renciler bilgileri izole ve birbirinden kopuk olarak o¤rendiklerin- den bunlar› birbiriyle iliflkilendirmekte ve yaflama uygulamakta gucluk cekmektedirler (Y›ld›r›m, 1996). Alan bilgisi vazgecilmez olup belirli bir za- man icinde mutlaka kazand›r›lmal›d›r. Ancak bun- lar, yaflam icin gerekli olan temel yeterliliklere yo- nelik ortak bir hedef dorultusunda koordine edil-
