Abstract	Neste artigo, cogitamos a inclusao da Historia da Matematica como componente metodologica para o ensino das equacoes algebricas, partindo da utilizacao de problemas de cunho historico como uma possibilidade em sala de aula. Buscamos, em nossa abordagem, caracteristicas que permitam, ao aluno, melhor compreensao dos conceitos envolvidos e dos processos de ligacao entre o conhecimento atual e o antigo, uma vez que a resolucao de equacoes sera tratada a partir de exemplos particulares, que permitam essa ligacao. Com isso, objetivamos possibilidades de uma aprendizagem efetiva e da relevância do papel da historia no ensino de Matematica. Palavras chave: Equacoes algebricas. Historia da Matematica. On the use of the history of mathematics in the teaching of algebraic equations In this paper, we consider the inclusion of History of Mathematics as a methodological component for the teaching of algebraic equations from the use of historical problems as a possibility in classroom. We seek, in our approach, characteristics that allow the student to understand better the concepts involved and the processes of connection between both current and old knowledge, since the resolution of equations will be treated from particular examples, which allow this connection. With this, we aim at possibilities of an effective learning and the relevance of the role of history in the teaching of Mathematics. Keywords: Algebraic equations. History of Mathematics.
