| Abstract | The teaching-learning paradigms have undergone significant changes in recent decades, which have allowed them to evolve, on one hand, educational models centered in teaching models aimed at learning. On the other hand, the change in teachers and students profiles. In this sense, the new educational models require that teachers transform their knowledge exhibitor role to monitor learning, and students should change from viewers of the teaching process to participatory, proactive and critical members in building their own knowledge. Learning process is something difficult to achieve because it involves aspects such as cognitive, affective and metacognitive in a specific context. It is even more complicated when our life story and beliefs are at stake, disfavoring the learning process. Therefore, this study aims to investigate how students learn at private institutions, and which leads us to the following reflection: What should we, as teachers, do to improve student learning, taking into account their way of learning? |
