| Abstract | INITIAL QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CONDITIONS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO THE RETENTION AND ADVANCEMENT OF THE STUDENTS IN THE FIRST YEAR OF MIDDLE SCHOOL This proposal represents the initial stage of a research project that investigates conditions on personal, family and institutional that contribute to the retention and advancement of the students in the irst year of middle school. The passage of the primary school to secondary school represents a genuine transition vital by the evolutionary characteristics of adolescents and for new forms of social interaction. High school students facing new challenges, including: a variety of teachers they faced multiple demands and the schoolwork is posed to be developed with a greater degree of autonomy. proposes a descriptive study, where it’s going to work with surveys, interviews and document analysis. It will work with the students that during the year 2013, are enrolled in the second year of high school, and that are not repeaters. With the results is expected to contribute to the knowledge that will lead to further improve the implementation of retention strategies and progress of students who are beginning the secondary cycle of training. |
