Abstract	Resumen: Este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar las concepciones del profesorado de Educacion Primaria en formacion sobre la ensenanza, aprendizaje y dimension educativa de la asignatura Valores sociales y civicos. Con este proposito, la investigacion se adscribe a modelos metodologicos mixtos de corte cuantitativo, mediante analisis estadisticos descriptivos, y cualitativos, con la aplicacion de tecnicas de analisis de contenido. Los resultados informan de su justificacion curricular, y del aun dificil tratamiento y recepcion de la cultura ciudadana democratica en esta etapa educativa. Palabras clave: Ciudadania, Valores Sociales y Civicos, formacion del profesorado, Educacion Primaria. Abstract: This research analyzes the teachers in training perception about the teaching, learning and educational dimension of Social and civic values subject. The research covered both a quantitative (descriptive statistical analysis) and a qualitative design (content analysis). The results report of the curricular importance of the subject, although there are difficulties in the didactic approach and in the reception of the democratic citizen culture in Primary Education.
