There are few studies investigating the senses and\or meanings attributed to it, and was no t identified in the literature on knowledge production professionals with a diagno sis of depression. Understanding the centrality of work changes in the process of depression is relevant to actions that may be developed for occup ational health, which will allow adequately serve this clientele. Given these purposes, the study was developed through analysis of documents and semi-st ructured interviews with professionals away from the workplace, due to depre ssion, in UFSC Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (Federal Uni versity of Santa Catarina). We analyzed medical records of 36 technical-adminis trat ve staff and faculty servers. Besides this population, were interviewed 08 participants. The criteria defined for the participation of research professio nals match away for reasons of depression during the year 2009, with University Graduate. Among the results collected, we can characterize the populati on of females, aged between 41 and 55 years, mostly technical-administrative st aff. Have a diagnosis of depression for 05 years or more, with emphasis on r ecur ent depression, and more than 70% make use of drug treatment. All parti cipants have the concept of work as employment, even for respondents who sho wed feelings of frustration and resentment at work (negative sense) , when reporting the contribution of social activity, this appears posit ive. It appears that among respondents who reported not realize there is meani ng in your work relationship with the disease process experienced. Already those who perceive sense in what they do, do not attribute their illne ss to work, however, understand this as a source of health, pleasure, op portunity to be with people. |
