| Abstract | espanolEl presente estudio analiza estereotipos y generalizaciones de Canada obtenidos en una muestra de manuales europeos de frances lengua extranjera. Estos estereotipos y generalizaciones han sido clasificados segun los temas y los grupos de la sociedad canadiense a los que se refieren y segun el tipo de enfoque cultural adoptado. Los lectores de este tipo de manuales encontrarian principalmente representaciones bipartitas de Canada en estos estereotipos y generalizaciones: estas representaciones se centran en temas y grupos sociales de Quebec y del resto de Canada en su conjunto. Con respecto al enfoque cultural en estas representaciones, el extranjero predomina y es seguido del intercultural. Sin embargo, este ultimo se centra en las relaciones entre Canada y Francia. Este estudio indica que habria una tendencia a reducir la gama de temas y grupos sociales de la sociedad canadiense en los estereotipos y generalizaciones de los manuales analizados. EnglishThis study analyzes stereotypes and generalizations about Canada obtained from a sample of European textbooks of French as foreign language. These stereotypes and generalizations have been classified according to the issues and social groups of Canada society they seem to refer to, as well as to the cultural approaches implied in them. The users of this type of textbooks will mainly find a twofold representation of Canada in these stereotypes and generalizations: on the one hand, representations of issues and social groups from Quebec, and then representations of the rest of Canada as a whole. As regards the cultural approach in these representations, the foreign one prevails, followed secondarily by the intercultural one. However, the latter centers on the relations between France and Canada. This study indicates that there is a tendency to reduce and limit the range of social issues and groups of Canadian society into the stereotypes and generalizations of these textbooks. francaisCette etude analyse des stereotypes et des generalisations sur le Canada obtenus dans un echantillon de manuels europeens de francais langue etrangere. Ces stereotypes et generalisations ont ete classifies en fonction des themes et des groupes de la societe canadienne auxquels ils se referent et de l’approche culturelle suivie. Les usagers de ce genre de manuels obtiendraient des representations majoritairement bipartites du Canada dans ces stereotypes et generalisations : ces representations se centrent sur des themes et des groupes sociaux du Quebec et du reste du Canada dans l’ensemble. Quant a l’approche culturelle presente dans ces representations, elle est generalement etrangere et peut etre egalement interculturelle. Cependant, cette derniere est focalisee sur les relations entre la France et le Canada. Cette recherche indique qu’il y aurait une tendance a reduire la gamme de themes et de groupes sociaux de la societe canadienne dans des stereotypes et des generalisations dans les manuels vises. |
