| Abstract | This article is about research lines in Distance Education (DE) from two different planes: one international, supported into the tendencies of the investigative activities detected in content analysis in specialized magazines published articles of DE, and other national, circumscribed into investigative development in the Universidad Nacional Abierta of Venezuela (UNA) since foundation in 1977 until 2006. From those two planes, it is analyzed Distance Higher Education quality (DHE). This analysis indicate, besides others aspects: a) Investigation in DE is linked essentially to the praxis of the institution modality therefore in the functioning of corresponding socialization mechanisms and it express in the quality of the given service and b) Exists an univocal relationship between research lines and quality in DE, if both elements are conceived in an act of aware abstraction, that connect both of them. From the perspective of research considered on this article, the author introduce a definition of quality on DHE like the inherent group properties to praxis of this modality, that shown o exhibited by social actors of a non presential university, allow to judge the value, efficiency, or impact of this praxis, on the base of research process of any kind or matter, with the given limitations. |
