| Abstract | Citizenship is closely related to Environmental Education. This study started from the Idea that the students had little interest on environmental issues around the school campus. As the State Standards suggests planning copntext oriented activities with the background of disciplinary knowledge, this Project developed na investigation to turn the students on Environmental issue, especially the ones who live close to the area of Pinheirinho River. In order to do that informationa about the river and its history were searched. To reach this goal we investigated students interest related to Environmental issues.
