| Abstract | To test possible association of human T cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1) with multiple sclerosis (MS), polymerase chain reaction was applied to detect HTLV-1 DNA integrated into peripheral blood mononuclear cell DNA. Nine Japanese MS patients all gave a negative result, indicating no HTLV-1 infection in these MS patients. |
