Description	Physio-Control Corporation is a world leader in the manufacture, sale, and service of defibrillator/monitors and pacemakers. The company was founded in 1955 by renowned cardiovascular surgeon Dr. K. William Edmark, who was determined to reduce the number of sudden deaths related to cardiac surgery. In 1983, Physio-Control embarked on an innovative path toward employing persons with developmental disabilities with a concept and program called supported employment. The key to the successful introduction of this innovative concept was the company's positive cultural orientation toward diversity and the company's employees, who are referred to as team members. Task design and task analysis are activities performed by supported employment consultants and by co-workers in order to optimize the training, productivity, and quality performance of the disabled employee.
