Abstract	There is currently a scarcity of qualified medical personnel in rural areas, also many patients might need but be unable to afford round the clock monitoring by medical personnel. As a solution, a system for remote emergency monitoring of patients is presented. It comprises a computing device holder capable of spherical motion and a remotely controlled app on the computing device that can control the motion of the holder and some functions on the device. The device holder consists of a spherical stepper motor on which is attached two clamps to hold the mobile computing device. The spherical motor orientation is controlled via medium like USB or WiFi from the device, via a controller board that translates the signals into stepper motor commands enabling it to rotate in the desired direction. An application on the computing device enables remote control of the orientation of the device and zoom function on the camera, along with artificial intelligence including face detection to enable to doctor to monitor the patient remotely, and trigger actions such as siren or calling a neighbor in case of a medical emergency. This enables a comprehensive low cost interactive monitoring system.
