Abstract	The primary measure of success of a software system is the degree to which it meets the purpose for which it was intended. Requirement engineering (RE) is the process of discovering that purpose. Various requirements engineering frameworks are seen in the literature viz. goal oriented, aspect oriented, scenario based and agent oriented RE frameworks. The RE frameworks based on the notion of agency (i.e. agent, goal and intentional dependency) have been recognized as having the potential to lead towards a more homogeneous and natural software engineering process, ranging from high level organization needs to system deployment. This paper reviews various agent-oriented requirements engineering (AORE) frameworks and proposes various parameters for their evaluation. This will help to understand these frameworks in order to adapt these frameworks for addressing the needs of the stakeholders during information system development in a better way.
