Abstract	In this paper, the identified actual distribution from provincial forest inventory and planning institute of Gansu, and predicted by species distribution model (SDM), combined with several calculated landscape metrics, were used to analyze the Qinghai spruce forests fragmentation and stability in the northern slope of Qilian Mountain. The results showed that, the actual vegetation possess a relatively stable fragmentation degree than the potential distribution of Qinghai spruce forest under the impact of human activities. If the Qinghai spruce forest would reach the potential distribution, the forest core area may increase and provide important ecological function services. And Structure of the potential distribution isn't as stable as the actual distribution.
