| Abstract | In the context of supplementing energy requirement for remote localities far from the reach of the national grid and having good wind energy potential, installation of modular wind plants operating in the stand-alone mode is the desirable choice. The optimal operation of such isolated generating system is essential so as to increase the overall efficiency and hence reduce the cost of energy generation. Reducing losses also helps to reduce the maintenance needs and increase the longevity of the generating system. Many works relating to the analysis, design and performance optimization of grid connected DOIG based VSCF generation system has been reported in literatures. However, surprisingly little attention has been focused on optimal operation of stand alone DOIG based VSCF generation system. In this paper an optimal operational strategy has been developed for a DIOG based VSCF generation system supplying an isolated load. The constrained optimization problem is solved in the MATLAB environment using the Lagrange multiplier technique. The control algorithm makes the generating system to operate at min. machine loss trajectory while the wind speed, active load power and load power factor angle varies with in their specified range. National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
