Abstract	An intuitive causality enforcement method is presented for the successful transient simulation of high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) interconnects including an equalizer, the magnitude of which are mathematically defined for compliance tests of the interconnects. Non-causal results of the simulation come from the absence of the phase of the equalizer and can be corrected by enforcing a proper phase of the equalizer. Since the magnitude-only equalizer is a non- physical device which has no delay, the phase portion can be synthesized by discrete Hilbert transform (DHT) with zero-delay assumption. The proposed procedure is validated with transient simulation.
