Abstract	Among the promising solutions for next generation Internet backbones, one can consider the optical burst switching (OBS) technology. One of the main aspects in the design of optical burst-switched networks is the development of a burst admission control protocol suitable for QoS provisioning. In this paper, we develop a method to address the call admission control (CAC) in OBS networks that is QoS-oriented. For this, an analytic model is developed for formulating the burst admission control problem. A QoS-constraints based burst admission control protocol is developed. Finally, simulation experiments are performed to validate the proposed schemes.
